I am still active in the Facebook page “Grew up in West Kildonan”. There are now four class pictures for Grades 1, 4, 5 and 6 so far. I have reconnected to most of the girls. Then are people from junior high and high school as well that I have reconnected with.
They have now added a memorial page for those who have passed away. That page is tough when you see a name from your past not knowing they have passed away. There were a few names of people from my elementary classes whom I remember playing with; also a girl from junior high who was in my home room for 2 or 3 years and I spent a lot of time with her in class, talking and working together.
I received a message from my niece in Edmonton that she was in town and would like to get together. When my daughter heard, we decided to get all the girl cousins together and meet for dinner.
I then called my aunt Sharon. my mother’s sister and invited her to come. We all had a great time talking, visiting and learning some family history.
When I was in Edmonton my niece had asked me some family history questions and wanted more information; with my Aunt being their she could answer more questions and tell them some stories that happened with the family, and more stories of things that she did with her family.
We all had a great time and were glad my Aunt came and all the nieces were so happy to spend time with both their aunts.
