I’m back from High Point Furniture Market in North Carolina. It was a busy 4 days. I saw and learned a lot.
I got to my hotel at 5:00 pm got settled in my room and started with my first appointment, meeting with Rob and Ariella, a father daughter team. They came to greet me and Ariella and I started our tour of the Bermex Showroom.
They had new tables, legs and bases. There were tables available in various sizes and thickness, with and without leaves and some with a self-storing option. Some had new legs and some had new bases. Bermex had about 100 different chairs on display; dining chairs,
counter stools and bar stools. There was the option of wood, upholstery, regular cushion or thick cushion seats. They also featured full upholstery chairs and stools; with the same fabric front and back or two different fabrics, one on the back and other on the seat. They provide different stain and paint options with various destressing level such as heirloom finish; the choices are many.
To make the choice process easier, Bermex has set-up a program on their website called Design It. It lets you go into the program, pick a table, chair, stools, buffet, bench or occasional table and design it online.
An example would be a table. First you pick the size and shape, square, rectangular, round or oval; also if you want leaves. The program then shows a profile of the table, your apron, legs or bases, the stain or colour, and finally a picture of the item that you can print.
You can see me to choose the finish. If you are ordering chairs I have the fabric samples for you look at. This way you have a complete picture of what you want as it makes it easier to decide on the options that are available for that piece.
After touring the showroom, we went downstairs to have a beautiful dinner with Rob and a charming lady from Thunder Bay, Eva.
What great way to start off the market.
