Hot and saucy ribs washed down with a cool brew from Fort Garry Brewing Company, or a Specialized Coffee followed by a BDI Ice Cream delight for dessert! What a way to spend
three nights of epicurean delight at Rotary Ribfest.
Rotary Ribfest starts today at the Forks at 11:00 am to 10:00 pm Friday and Saturday and11:00 am to 7:00 pm on Sunday.
Admission to Festival Stage at The Fork is free, as is the Kid Zone, open from Noon to 5:00 pm. This venue includes balloons, face painting, walking through a fire truck and lots more for kids of all ages.
Three great Ribbers are featured – the great BBQ from these three will make it hard to decide which to vote for as the best of the best. The solution may be to try one each day.
Local food trucks are available for those who want something else; one of Winnipeg favorites is BDI Ice Cream. Other local vendors will feature Mini Donuts, Lemon King, Tatar Tots,
Blooming Onion and A Little Pizza Heaven.
This year we selected Fort Garry Brewing Company for our beer; I will be selling tickets for that. There is live music all three days. Performers are from Winnipeg, Brandon and
Portage La Prairie. Featured artists include the 2018 Manitoba Country Music Association Roots artist of the year, Quinton Blair as well as Manitoba artists Rocalypso, Lindsay White, Banned & Outlaw and more.
For those who want to ride their bike there is a bike corral manned by one of the staff, as no bikes are allowed on the grounds.
This is a green friendly event as Rotary Collects all beverage container and cardboard and recycles them, including collection and composting organic waste (food, bones and paper waste), recycling the cooking grease.
This is a great outing with activities for the whole family.
Our 50/50 draw is available online or at Rotary Ribfest www.ribfestwpg5050.ca and there will be other draws for prizes available on site. There is also Facebook page Rotary Ribfest Winnipeg 2019.
All the money raised is going to two worthy local youth causes Inspired Community Outreach and Honouring Indigenous People.
Hope you can come and enjoy the food and entertainment.
